YAYASAN ANTI RASUAH MALAYSIA ANJUR PERSIDANGAN ANTARABANGSA PERTAMA, TITAH KHAS OLEH TUANKU SULTAN PERAK

1. Dalam usaha meningkatkan kesedaran mengenai kesan rasuah terhadap masyarakat Malaysia dan menangani kebimbangan ini dengan menawarkan penyelesaian praktikal yang mampan kepada tadbir urus yang tidak beretika, Yayasan Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia, sebuah pertubuhan bukan kerajaan tidak berorientasikan keuntungan, mempromosikan integriti dan standard etika yang tinggi dalam kehidupan, akan mengadakan Persidangan Antarabangsa pertama, yang bertemakan “MELETAKKAN ETIKA KERJA DALAM PERNIAGAAN DAN KERAJAAN pada hari Khamis, 10 Disember 2015, di PULLMAN HOTEL (Bangsar) Kuala Lumpur. Program ini adalah persidangan terbesar yang pertama bagi Yayasan sejak penubuhannya setahun lalu, secara langsung bertepatan dengan Hari Anti Rasuah Antarabangsa yang disambut pada 9 Disember setiap tahun.
2. DYMM Sultan Perak, Sultan Dr Nazrin Shah Muizuddin akan menyampaikan titah khas pada persidangan ini.
3. Persidangan ini akan memberi tumpuan kepada isu-isu semasa yang sangat penting kepada rakyat Malaysia amnya.
4. Topik persidangan terdiri daripada “Polis, Rakyat dan Kedaulatan Undang-undang”, yang akan disampaikan oleh Tun Hanif Omar [mantan Ketua Polis Negara Malaysia, yang paling lama berkhidmat], “Peranan Badan Kehakiman Dalam Demokrasi” [oleh Dato’ Param Cumaraswamy, mantan Presiden Majlis Peguam Malaysia dan Pelapor Khas Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu Kebebasan Hakim dan Peguam], “Rasuah Di Pihak Pembekal dan Had Untuk Mencegah Rasuah Dalam Perolehan Kerajaan” [oleh Profesor Prem Sikka, Profesor Perakaunan di Universiti Essex], “Sistem-sistem Jenayah: Akan Adakah Keadilan Tanpa Etika dan Hati Nurani? [oleh Dato’ Syed Ahmad Idid Syed Abdullah, mantan Hakim Mahkamah Tinggi, Malaysia], “Cabaran Etika Dalam Sistem Parlimen Westminster, Termasuk Satu Fokus Kepada Pembiayaan Parti Politik” [oleh Profesor Emeritus Peter Boyce dari Australia, bekas Naib Canselor Universiti Murdoch dan Penyelidik Kehormat di Universiti Tasmania School of Government] dan “Kakisan Etika: Kebersalahan Kolektif Kita” [oleh Chandran Nair dari Hong Kong, Pengasas dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif The Global Institute For Tomorrow]. Penceramah lain termasuk mantan Menteri Luar Thailand, Kisit Piromya dan wartawan terkenal di Malaysia, Citizen Nades serta beberapa nama lain yang terkenal.
5. Persidangan ini akan menghimpunkan ahli-ahli akademik, penuntut, profesional, eksekutif perniagaan, ahli-ahli badan bukan kerajaan, pengamal media dan kakitangan awam – dengan memberi tumpuan kepada golongan muda.
6. ANUGERAH INTEGRITI NASIONAL
Sempena ulang tahun pertama ini, Yayasan Anti Rasuah Malaysia juga gembira untuk mengumumkan bahawa Anugerah Integriti Nasional yang sulung, yang disediakan oleh Yayasan, akan dikurniakan kepada Dato’ Shafee Yahaya, mantan Ketua Pengarah Badan Pencegah Rasuah Malaysia (1994-1998). Dato’ Shafee Yahaya berkhidmat dengan cemerlang sebagai pembela berani integriti dalam kehidupan kita dan yang mana beliau telah membuat pengorbanan yang besar. Majlis penyampaian anugerah akan berlangsung pada majlis makan malam khas pada hari Khamis, 10 Disember 2015 di Pullman Hotel, Bangsar.

THE MALAYSIAN ANTI-CORRUPTION FOUNDATION
FIRST MAJOR INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF MALAYSIAN ANTI-CORRUPTION FOUNDATION, ROYAL ADDRESS BY SULTAN OF PERAK

1. In our efforts to raise awareness of the debilitating effects of corruption on Malaysian society and address these concerns with a view to offering sustainable practical solutions to unethical governance, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Foundation, a not-for-profit non-governmental organisation promoting integrity, and high ethical standards in national life, will be holding a One Day Conference on PUTTING ETHICS TO WORK IN BUSINESS AND GOVERNMENT on Thursday 10 December 2015. The Conference venue is the PULLMAN HOTEL (Bangsar) Kuala Lumpur. This is the Foundation’s first major conference since its formation a year ago, which is coincide with the International Anti-Corruption Day.
2. HRH the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Dr Nazrin Muizuddin Shah will speak at the conference.
3. The conference will focus on contemporary issues of critical importance to Malaysian society at large.
4. The conference topics range from The Police, the Citizen and the Rule of Law by Tun Hanif Omar [the longest serving Inspector General of Police, Malaysia], to the Role of the Judiciary in a Democracy by Dato’ Param Cumaraswamy [former President of the Malaysian Bar Council, and United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers], Supply-side Corruption and Limits to Preventing Corruption in Government Procurement by Professor Prem Sikka of England [Professor of Accounting at the University of Essex], Criminal Systems: Can There Ever Be Justice Without Ethics and Conscience? By Dato’ Syed Ahmad Idid Syed Abdullah [former High Court Judge, Malaysia], Ethical Challenges within Westminster Parliamentary System-including a focus on Funding of Political Parties by Emeritus Professor Peter Boyce of Australia [former Vice-Chancellor of Murdoch University and currently Honorary Research Fellow in the University of Tasmania’s School of Government] and Ethical Corrosion: Our Collective Culpability by Mr. Chandran Nair of Hong Kong [founder and CEO of The Global Institute For Tomorrow (GIFT)]. Other speakers include former Thai Foreign Minister Mr. Kisit Piromya, well-known commentator Citizen Nades and other distinguished names.
5. The conference brings together academics, students, professionals, business executives, members of civil society organisations, media practitioners and civil servants, – with a focus on the younger members of society.
6. NATIONAL INTEGRITY AWARD
We are pleased to announce that the Foundation’s inaugural National Integrity Award will be presented to Dato’ Shafee Yahaya, former Director-General of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (1994-1998). Dato’ Shafee Yahaya served with great distinction as a fearless defender of integrity in national life and for which he paid dearly.
The presentation will be made at a special dinner on Thursday, 10 December, 2015 at the Pullman Hotel, Bangsar.
